Our big activity in Cyprus today was renting a boat at Latchi Watersports Centre.
It seems crazy that after a short review of a map and an even sorter boat orientation we were able to set out on the open ocean all by ourselves for four hours.
We found the Blue Lagoon which looked like it had a nice beach and we dropped anchor.
Before anybody got wet we ate the small lunch that we had brought with us. We found bread pockets with vegetarian fillings at the supermarket next to the place where we rented the boats. I wanted the ones filled with Holloumi cheese but apparently they were mismarked and ours were filled with olives. They were still delicious.

After lunch Kenny and Sophia got in the water right away. I needed some convincing. Though the 70 degree temperatures feel warm to us, the locals are still going around with long sleeves, long pants, and even light scarves. I thought maybe it was still a little chilly for swimming. We were given wet suits and snorkeling masks with the boat but Sophie's suit was too big so we all just got in. It was indeed chilly but not unbearable and the water was shallow enough we could walk into the beach.
It was a beautiful day out punctuated by a spectacular sunset in the way back to the hotel.
