Running - Marathon Training #26
Running as fast as you can and a little healthy competition can help cure a heavy heart. Kenny was gone all week and I think it upset Sophia even though she didn't say so. We fought all week. It was pretty terrible. I took that burden and left it on the track today. I was happy to do my speed workout with the ladies from Sculpt & Burn. I wasn't the fastest out there but I had somebody to chase and I knocked some time off of my mile and my quarter mile. With such a heavy heart I didn't know if I would be able to improve my mile time, but I did. I started out a bit slower, slowed down toward the middle, took advantage of downhill portions, ran the tangents, and managed a burst at the end. I was closing on the leader but didn't quite overtake her. I was pleased with my work and felt happier going home, though I still held a little grudge. She was a happy angel this evening. Having daddy home makes all the difference.
My times for the mile and three quarter mile laps:
7:35
1:36
1:43
1:48
