Running - Marathon Training #25

This packed bag represents a little bit of crazy. I went to Sculpt and Burn after my 7 mile tempo run. My job is all done but now I'm doing a different kind of work. My core and upper body have been neglected with all of the running, so it's time to focus on getting back in good overall shape.

I had a few things compelling me to run faster today. First, I had exactly 70 minutes to complete the run before I needed to get in the car to drive to post for Sculpt and Burn. Second, I had the opportunity to pass another runner on an uphill portion of the trail. I always feel so slow so it made me feel good for a change to power by her. And finally, toward the end of the run, I could see a bunch of German soldiers at the top of a hill. I really had to run strong because I didn't want to bear the indignity of having them hear my watch beep at me to speed up. So, I finished the run in good time and made it to the gym in time for class.

It is really challenging to make any improvements on my speed. Any small gain is hard fought.

Distance: 6.95 miles
Time: 1:05
Pace: 9:27
