Sophia Update - Zuma Beach

We went to Zuma Beach at Malibu on Sunday.  Thought we should escape the heat and take advantage of the California beaches before we move.  Sophie had fun eating a picnic, jumping the waves, building sand castles, and getting buried.

Sophia Update - Father's Day

We went to Corona, CA for Father's Day.  We ate at Urban Thai.  Kenny got a treatment at Aveda.  Sophie went on a pony ride at Tom's Farm.  We bought some nice produce and went to Trader Joe's.  We managed to get through the whole car ride without Sophie going to sleep.  Maybe there's hope for the drive across the country.

Sophia Update - Veggies!

Kenny thought Sophie's eating habits deserved a blog entry.  We're not really eating too much with children Sophie's age these days so I'm not sure what other kids eat.  It seems a little bit unusual though for a three year old to eat asparagus, brussels sprouts, and spinach with gusto like Sophie does.  To be truthful, I ate a whole serving of brussels sprouts for the first time ever this week.

Sophie's newest thing is to ask, "What does that mean?"  I thought kids were supposed to ask "why" all the time.  It's a little bit irritating sometimes because I'm pretty sure she knows what I'm talking about and she still asks the question.

She just finished her first round of swimming lessons last week. She did a really good job listening to the teacher and she showed significant improvement during the class.  We'll repeat level one for the next two weeks because she isn't confident about putting her whole head in the water and opening her eyes underwater.  I wonder a little bit if that is my fault because I'm not a good example.  I hate to have water in my face, in large part due to my contacts.

She will also be attending a sports camp every day this week.  It will be her first exposure to any kind of organized sports.  She's very excited about the pink and white Nikes we purchased.  I hope she's just as excited about the camp!
