Sophia Update - Sophia Turns Two

Sophie turned two on the first. We had a small party for her at home. She had her friends Grace, Riley, and Thomas over.

She's getting to be such a big girl. She's grown a lot recently and is now in the 75th percentile for weight and head size and the 50th percentile for height.

She has started to say a lot more things. She'll repeat just about anything now. She's doing very well with learning her colors. I have a carousel with scrapbooking scissors in it. They aren't sharp so I don't mind her playing with them. She surprised me one day when I asked her to pull out particular colors and she was right for every color. Her interests are well rounded. She enjoys playing with her baby dolls but she also likes to play with balls and trains.

She's very independent. We went to a concert tonight on base where there wasn't much trouble for her to get into. We let her wander around as long as we could see her. She ran around and did her own thing, checking in periodically to get snacks from the stroller.

She continues to go to bed nicely. People marvel at how easily she goes to sleep. As long as she has her pony she'll go down. She's starting to balk a little bit when it's time to go upstairs, but it hasn't been that big of a deal.

We've tried potty training without much success, so I think we're going to give her a couple more months and see if it's a little easier.
